JILL HÖJEBERG sculpts in stone, alabaster, wood, bronze, iron and glass. She is born in the USA and educated in Washington D.C. and New York. She has lived in both the USA and Sweden and now resides in Stockholm. For the last few years, she has worked periodically in Italy. She finds it a source of inspiration to sculpt in the very location where the marble is cut out of the mountains or the alabaster dug out of the ground. She strives to let the hard stone project a sense of soft elasticity, energy and strength. Jill Höjeberg is influenced by the connection between human emotion and physical form. Her sculptures appear to be stretched, pulled and bent to the edge of impossibility.
